2017 Back Porch League annual story in the standings

Today finds me sitting here on my Back Porch this warm summer day pondering the recent Moose sighting in here Miami.  A Moose in Miami has brought out many fanatics to witness the spectacle and take a break at the beach.  J’s Waterbugs floated atop the sea as Beach Bums observed Sweaty Ducks taking Fun Dips in the nearby Atlantic waters.  Near the pier just down the beach is a local dive whose sweets attract Eddy’sBees and whose Swingin’ Chefs prepare delightful fresh fish tacos daily.  On that same pier Crows Crush chips left from passersby.  On the beach and all over Miami memorials still stand for Jose Fernandez and a few new ones have popped up this week sporting #DoItForAce, erected by our Johnson County Comrades.  Visitors from Cincinatti, home of the once Roja Grande machine in the 1970’s, stop at these memorials to remember these fallen aces. They Spawn visions of the highs and lows of this great sport we call baseball.  From the days of Steve Bartman’s Headset to a 2016 Championship and from KC Yankees dynasty days to recent their Fantasy Farmhand surge from 2016 deadline moves that have prepared them for a World Zerhries run behind the Judge.  Not the judge in Heaven who reminds us that Gods Gonna Win, but Aaron Judge who’d store away his daily Per Diehms in fear of going back to the minors.  He knows that a mighty team can fall and a Bad Team Rising can win it all.  But that’s baseball!  That’s Back Porch League baseball!  Where at any time you can be walking the streets of Miami and see a Moose.  What will we see next…..a Gordon/Gordon combo in KC….a Starling in flight…..it’s baseball so we’ll just have to wait and see!
